| Katara is part of an Inuit community in northern Canada- her whole family were muggles who had never even heard of 'wizards' and 'witches'. Her mother died when she was very young, and Katara was forced to grow up fast in order to take care of her elderly grandmother, and the younger children of her tribe. She was kept so busy taking care of everyone, she never even noticed when- every once in a while- the water around her would move along with her body. Her powers did not go unacknowledged, however, and on her eleventh birthday, she recieved an invitation to attend Hogwarts. She was hesitant at first to leave her family all alone, but she could not resist this chance to see a bigger world. With a heavy heart, she left her tribe for the very first time, determined to find a way to use her powers to help others. Katara is a caring, considerate girl when in a good mood, often acting as a den mother to younger children. She can't help but be the voice of reason in any given situation, making her something of a killjoy. She's also fiercly passionate about what she believes in, and has a surprisingly fiery temper, considering her affinity towards water. She takes betrayl hard, and has a difficult time trusting those who have hurt her. (And though she'll never admit it, she has a thing for bad boys.) Her most precious possession is a necklace that used to belong to her mother, and she wears it at all times. |

| Satoko Houjou, 1st Year Gryffindor An adorable little first year who Aang introduced her to. They play games together after classes. Aang, 4th Year Gryffindor Katara's best friend, who she's known since first year when she saw him crash into a tree on his broom. She cares a great deal about him, and is careful never to yell at him or let her temper get out of control. He has a crush on her, which is obvious to everyone except her. Zuko, 4th Year Ravenclaw After four years of ignoring each other (apart from mild squabbling), Katara and Zuko finally brawled in the Grand Hall near the end of their Fourth Year. In the detention that followed, they kissed and began dating shortly after. Their relationship has many ups and downs, but Katara is determined to stick it out- especially since she's falling in love with him. Agito/Akito Wanijima, 4th Year Hufflepuff Katara thinks Akito is adorable, like a little First Year. Agito, however, has a tendancy to bring out her snarky side. It's hard to tell which one she likes talking to more. Agito has convinced her to try out for the Quidditch team come fifth year. Mai, 4th Year Hufflepuff Zuko's ex-girlfriend, and Katara's roommate. Turns out she and Zuko were still together, even after he and Katara started dating. Zuko fixed this problem by really leaving Mai for Katara- but she still hates her. The feeling's mutual. Misa Amane, 5th Year Hufflepuff If Katara had a big sister, she'd probably be something like Misa. Misa finds gossiping about Katara's love life fun, but doesn't hesitate to back Katara up when she needs it. Suki, 5th Year Gryffindor A strong, reliable older student, who Katara admires. Suki is staying at Katara's for the summer- and Sokka's already called dibs. Piper Halliwell, 6th Year Hufflepuff Another big sister type- Piper is very considerate and caring. A lot like Katara, actually. She has an easy time talking to her- especially about certain Ravenclaw boys. Professor Vash, Divinations Teacher A new teacher who shares Katara's terrible sense of humor. She is taking his class in her fifth year, and is looking forward to it. |
